Summary
He sleeps for the first time in his first night in his dormitory room and wakes to discover someone else's eyes on him. It's the first time he "wakes" in the dream and it actually feels real for a second. And then he looks up and knows it can't be.
Sitting at his desk, perfectly composed, legs crossed, is a man that Giorno can only guess to be the same figure as his dreams before. He looks like it. Maybe. Through the getup. He's wearing a sleeveless turtleneck and what is probably the weirdest pants Giorno has ever seen, and a green headband in a--is that a heart? But the hair color is right, he thinks, and so is the build. But why would he dream this?
Giorno is gaping silently at the apparition when it--he--speaks.
"So this is you," the man says without preamble, and then, removing all of Giorno's doubts, "my son."
Giorno stays laying down, finding it impossible to move. He feels like a butterfly pinned to a board, like the case he hates in his science teacher's classroom, except he is stuck on his back, pinned not by metal but by the piercing yellow gaze of what might be his father.
A story of fatherhood, trauma, and catharsis, told through years of dreams of Giorno Giovanna.

Summary
It was supposed to be quick. In and out, that’s what Abbacchio said. He should’ve known better than to trust his definition of easy or innocuous.
And, okay, it wasn’t like something didn’t go wrong every mission--it wasn’t like Narancia didn’t go a little apeshit sometimes, wasn’t like Mista didn’t empty his own gun into himself every other week, wasn’t like Fugo didn’t give himself a short leash for no reason. They were a gang of people all under the age of twenty-five, and over half still in their teens. They all had more problems collectively than they could fill a mental hospital with. Things went wrong, sometimes. Often. They were used to it.
But usually it wasn’t so--
Quick. Visceral. Unexpected.
The point was: it wasn’t the fact he almost died that fucked him up.
A boring, routine breaking and entering for Bucci's team goes wrong. Giorno pays the consequences, and has a few realizations. Bruno picks up the pieces.

Summary
In hindsight, maybe it had been a bad idea to ambush the Yiga clan.
Well, “ambush” was a strong word. He had snuck in to the Yiga clan hideout. Broken in, if you will.
Okay, that didn’t actually sound less stupid. At least, not to anyone who didn’t know about this whole “destined hero” stuff. The stuff that to Link was simultaneously too unbelievable to be real, all that he had known since he’d awoken, and so familiar to him sometimes it did feel like it was his destiny. Or, maybe, familiar to a different version of him, a destiny for a different Link, the one that had died a century ago in all but name, and left him to pick up the pieces.
Anyway. Yiga clan. Hideout. Being caught and kidnapped. Yeah.
A bad choice leads to an unexpectedly horrible turn of events. For Link, it is a uniquely bad, and yet somehow typically painful, encounter.
Or: Link really needs therapy after becoming a chosen hero at the tender age of 17.

Summary
That look from Giovanna--he kept finding it at the weirdest moments. Inbetween lull moments of group conversations when everyone else was distracted by tediously mundane gossip, or across an empty living room when Abbacchio got up to get something to drink at 1am and found the kid weirdly still awake, or after a fight, while their blood was up and Giovanna was a little less subtle and Abbacchio a little too bold from victory to not pay it much mind.
In the quiet moments of the day, truth be told, it was starting to creep him out the more he thought about it.
What did it mean? It wasn’t like Giovanna to do that. He was more subtle than that, he was quiet, he was--by all accounts, except Passione’s--a decent kid. And no matter what Bucciarati scolded him for, Abbacchio did have the presence of mind to notice the emotional states of the other team members. He just chose not to care. And he could tell--there was something going on.
He just didn’t know what.
Abbacchio bites off more than he can chew while scorning Passione's latest recruit. It doesn't end well for him.
