As Sand slipped his guitar into its case and turned around, he froze. The silhouette of a gun loomed in the dim light, its barrel aimed squarely between his eyes.
Behind the gun, Sand could just barely make out the face of the person holding it - a young man, not much older than himself, with short black hair sticking out in all directions. The man's dark eyes were cold and determined, but beneath that hard exterior, Sand glimpsed something more - emotions the stranger struggled to conceal.
