"Mingyu," he gritted his teeth as he shook his head, a slight bit of desperate frustration flaring up in him. "When I say you run, you run and don't look back."
"No," Mingyu huffed, shaking his head in complete disbelief. "No, you say run, and I expect us both to run. You stop, and I'll stop. We're both leaving this forest together, Wonwoo. I need you to understand that. You're not sacrificing yourself; you're not fucking taking any bites for me."
"Then promise me you'll do the same," he propositioned, almost begging.
"I promise," the other man drawled out. And Wonwoo knew Mingyu enough to know that he didn't mean it. He had expected his boyfriend not to, so whatever vow he made in return, he flushed right out of his system the second they started heading toward any semblance of safety.
When Mingyu asked Wonwoo what he'll do when a zombie bites him, he should've taken it more seriously rather than laugh. But years of living in the city infested by the dead, Wonwoo wasn't wrong to think they'll both survive until the end, right?
