I trust you and you’d be honest and tell me if something was shit,” Matthew said stifling a little bit of a laugh, “So…what do you say? It’s not like you have feelings for me, do you?”
“I definitely do not.”
“Perfect! And you think I’m attractive, right?” Matthew asked, as he bit his lip and held his breath awaiting Taerae’s answer.
“Objectively…”
“So, then…” Matthew said quietly as he started to lean in. His eyes flickered between Taerae’s lips and his eyes, before whispering again, “...could I kiss you?”
OR
It's just practice, is what Taerae is going to keep telling himself. His *friend* Matthew just wants a little more experience with kissing (and more!) to impress his crush. With battle of the bands coming up, it's not like Taerae has time to think about his feelings anyway!

Matthew’s eyebrows scrunch up into the cutest frown. “What? Heat… ind-'' His non-native tongue stumbles over the unfamiliar word. “Heat what? Is that an omega medication? Is this about Hanbin-hyung-”
“No, no, um.” Taerae waves desperately to get Matthew to stop talking. “Heat inducers. You know, um, they simulate an omega’s heat, but in betas or alphas?” He wasn’t expecting to end up blushing this early in the conversation, but oh well.
Matthew’s face lights up with recognition all at once. “OH!” He repeats the term to himself in English. “You mean the stuff that makes you get wet, basically.” He starts gesturing to his own ass, of all things, and Taerae cringes so hard he slaps a hand over his face.
or: Taerae isn't one of those insecure betas, but it doesn't mean that he can't have a little fun.
