Aizawa Shouta was always the first one to admit that he was a pessimist. Asocial. Unlikable. The complete antithesis of sunshine and rainbows. He was stern and cold and strict. He had been a teacher for only three months, and already his students knew to fear him.
But, for all his rough edges and gruff exterior, there was one undeniable fact that not even he could escape.
His weakness.
Animals.
Small, fluffy animals.
He’d never quite understood it. How something so soft and helpless could elicit such a strange, instinctive pull in his chest. Aizawa liked to think of himself as someone who didn’t get attached. But somehow, small creatures—kittens, children, any creature that appeared to be even remotely defenseless—always had a way of cracking his usually impenetrable facade.
And so, when he found the small green creature lying half-dead in the woods, battered and bruised by the cruelty of some lowlife hooligans, he didn’t hesitate. Of course, he didn’t admit it aloud—he would never admit it—but there was something in him that couldn’t bear to leave it behind.
