Summary
Bravery was something Buck thought came easily to him, and the people he saves as a firefighter probably agree.
Buck was a first responder, trained to handle stressful situations with calm and composure. When everything got too loud to think, he had been trained to shut it down and focus on the task at hand. To focus on the next step until he didn't have one.
But now when his next step was opening the door to a possibly Eddie-less world? He wasn't so sure about being brave.

Summary
Annabeth can't waste time to explain them and coax them into leaving. She was the one that brought them here, with foolish hope of her mother helping them. So she was the one who bore the consequences of it, not them.
“Someone has to stay back to slow her down and buy everyone some time.” She clarifies.
Percy is shaking his head, not wanting to move without taking her along.
“Wait.” He says urgently.
Then he pulls his sword, which was currently in its pen form, and uncaps it. The sword materialises in his hand. He then holds the hilt towards her, giving it to her.
“Take this.” He says expectantly.
She didn't stop to think why he would give her the sword. Maybe that was her mistake.
He pulls her arm and pushes her in his place and slams the exit door shut.

Steve was crying as Barnes held him from his side. Natasha was trying her best to hold her emotions in, but a single tear broke free from her facade. Clint and Sam were just supporting each other, grieving Tony respectfully.

Chimney’s chair creaks. Buck cranes his head over the back of the couch and watches him straighten up, pop his back, close the folder.
“You only ever ask me weird questions,” he says, and then crosses the loft to sit in one of the armchairs. He levels Buck with a look that’s way too knowing for the amount of words they’ve exchanged. “What’s up?”
He takes a breath.
“What does it feel like to be a dad?”
in which buck is used to wanting things he's not allowed to have; it's just that he never thought being a father would be one of them.
