Summary
Kojiro is a gladiator the Roman crowds more than just admire; everyone either wants to be just like him or be with him– or both. Kaoru met him about a year ago when he had turned up with the latest batch of prisoners-of-war, and was immediately unimpressed with his vanity muscles and leering smile.
“Touch me and I will cut off your finger,” Kaoru warned when he tended to a cut on Kojiro’s chest after his first battle.
“Wouldn’t dream of it, pinky,” Kojiro answered easily, his own words slurred slightly by the medicine, before exhaling a sheepish chuckle. “Okay, maybe I do dream of it a little. But can you blame me? I’ve never been taken care of like this, especially by someone so beautiful.”
“Tch.”

“C’mon, pinky, don’t be a downer,” Kojiro teased.
“It’s my vacation, I’ll do as I please,” Kaoru said, sticking his nose up at him. His haughtiness was somewhat undermined by the fact that he was now letting Miya hang off his arm as he did so often, like the little brother Kaoru never had. He would never admit it, but he did have a soft spot for him. (Okay, maybe he had a soft spot for them all, despite everything.)

“Maybe not with certain aspects of my life,” Tadashi muses. “But generally, when I see something I want, I take it.”

Joe heard the front door chime to Sia la luce and tried to control his smile as he toweled off his hands and made his way to the front. It wouldn’t do to actually look a bit happy to see Cherry; no way, that would upset the routine.
“I didn’t realize it was that late, already wine-mooching time—” Joe teased as he came around the corner, brought up short.
Cherry stood ramrod straight, tension radiating off of him. Golden eyes too wide, and ghastly pale (even for him).
“Kaoru?” Joe asked carefully, already moving around the counter. “Are you okay? What’s wrong?”
Cherry lifted his arm, holding a…weird-ass basket? A big one? Were they going on a picnic? No, that wasn’t really a basket it was—well, not that Joe was particularly familiar with these things but once he saw it, he couldn’t see it as anything else.
But a bassinet.
“Kojiro,” Cherry said, voice painfully tight. “What is this?”

Something smells so good. Wei Ying closes his eyes, already feeling sleepy, and tries to identify where the scent is coming from. He turns his face to one side and then the other, chasing it, until his nose touches Lan Zhan’s cheek.
He pulls back quickly, not freaking out, because it’s fine. He touched Lan Zhan’s cheek with his nose, and Lan Zhan smells really fucking good, and they’re lying down together on a very soft bed because Lan Zhan is too drunk to let go of him, and Lan Zhan is gay but Wei Ying isn’t, and it’s fine.
Wei Ying swallows hard and closes his eyes again.

Wei Ying helps Lan Zhan out of an uncomfortable situation, and they grow close right away, becoming instant friends. To Lan Zhan, they become instant something else. With time, they only get closer and closer, and Wei Ying is forced to deal with his own feelings about Lan Zhan, and his perception of his own sexuality.

Reki doesn't know the first thing about kissing and after a bit of light-hearted taunting, gets the idea to practice with Langa. They're best friends, aren't they? So they should help each other out. Boy lips couldn't be that different from girl lips anyway. Langa, meanwhile, knows this isn't a good idea. Yet, if having Reki to himself is ultimately impossible, then might as well take what he can get--even if it is going to be painful in the end.
Their experimentation starts out innocently enough, but with curiosity and raging hormones at play, they might be too late by the time they go too far.
