Summary
"I didn’t cut things short because you behaved badly," Tommy reveals. "I did it because I didn’t want to pressure you."
And that sounds… reasonable. It would have been nice for Tommy to have explained it in that fashion before he ditched Buck on the sidewalk, but then again Buck can understand if Tommy might not have been feeling very charitable at the time.
So Buck brushes it off and completes his apology, which Tommy accepts with nothing more than a short 'Noted', and it feels nice to have it acknowledged even if it isn’t exactly an 'I forgive you'.
OR: In an effort to get off the hamster wheel, Buck tries to make things work with Tommy. It’s strange how something so new can feel so much the same.

Summary
Buck remembers how proud he was about all of his software updates. 2.0, 3.0. Maybe if he shed 100 skins and improved himself enough, 3.0 to infinity, someone could take a look at him and find something worth keeping. Because that’s what he kept telling himself: nobody is ever gonna want you enough to keep you.
But Eddie had kept him. He’s keeping him, still, he just has to go.
Eddie is moving to Texas. Buck finally figures out what he wants.

Summary
“You’re really starting over, then,” Eddie says.
“That’s what I wanted,” Buck replies. “Clean slate, you know?”
“Well, you’re welcome to stay here as long as you need,” Eddie says, knocking his shoulder against Buck’s. “That should go without saying.”
When Buck had hastily packed his bag and slipped out the door to his Jeep, he hadn’t really known where he was heading for the night. He thought about going to Maddie’s place, or even Albert’s new apartment, but in the end he’d driven himself here—to Eddie’s.
Buck moves in. Eddie comes out. Things get a little messy.

Summary
“Buck's here,” he says. Hen and Chim raise their eyebrows in perfect coordination. “Have to make sure he doesn't get himself into trouble.”
“He's been getting himself into trouble since 1992,” Chimney says, pulling out his phone, probably to make fun of Eddie in his and Maddie's text thread. “And I'm pretty sure he's right at home in a bar.”
The unfortunate thing is, Eddie really can't argue with that. It's easy to see Buck, somehow, even through the throngs of people crowding around tables and flagging down the lone bartender for drinks: one elbow on the bartop, head tilted, leaning down with half-lidded eyes as he says something to the short blonde he's been talking to.
in which eddie, very literally, has a brush with buck 1.0.

“So, uh,” he says, swallowing to get the taste of hops off his tongue, “we all know I'm in love with him, then.”
“Yeah,” Hen and Chim say in unison.
“Cool,” Eddie says, and puts his head on the table. “That's great.”
