As they walked, Syzoth's hand found its way to hers, his fingers slipping effortlessly into the spaces between her fingers. He would never tire of the spark that traveled up his arm and into his heart whenever she reciprocated the gesture. Their courtship had only recently begun, and Syzoth had quickly learned that it was best to move things along slowly. It made a lot of sense when he learned that demons were unaccustomed to displays of love and affection. It saddened Syzoth all the same to learn that no one had ever loved Ashrah in the way she deserved. He vowed to himself that he would strive to spend every moment of their time together to make up for that.

Summary
This is just kinda my idea of what would be an interesting story if the original timeline Sub-Zeroes interacted before they died. I feel the the MK franchise hasn't done a whole lot with the dynamic in the original timeline, which is crazy to me.
This kinda follows the plot of MK1 to MKX, but I mean it's an AU so some stuff is changed. You can read them individually, though they do have an order. But, I will explain the main plot points of the previous work at the beginning of each one and throughout the story, so it is no biggy to skip one :))
