Destiny leaves clues on people’s skin to help them find their soulmate(s), but they don’t have any pattern or logic because Destiny loves watching the drama unravel.
James gets the hint “Your soulmate is a boy” and has a sexuality crisis.
Regulus doesn’t care until he gets “Your soulmate is an illegal Animagus.” and is intrigued.
Remus gets very uninformative hints like “Your soulmate has pretty eyes”. But he doesn’t mind because he thinks that no one could love a werewolf.
Sirius gets the hint “Your soulmate is a werewolf” and freaks out.
Peter gets “Your soulmate loves quidditch” and “Your soulmate hates quidditch” and is confused.
Barty hopes Evan is his soulmate. But he gets “Your soulmate ate toast today” and Evan had cereal.
Evan doesn’t care about any of it until he gets “Your soulmate knows a secret passage to Hogsmeade.” and wants to meet this person to coax all secrets out of them.
Lily gets “Your soulmate teaches the nymphs in the forbidden forest how to sing” and thinks her soulmate must be insane.
Pandora knows her soulmate is Lily, so Destiny doesn’t give her more clues. Instead, Destiny encourages her to make a move.

Summary
After they found themselves trapped in a broom closet to escape Filch, James and Regulus fight until Regulus decides to shut James Potter up – with his lips to be precise. But this doesn’t mean they will date as James hoped, this only means that they will meet at night when nobody’s watching. By day they will fight, will bicker, will hex each other, the perfect resemblance of two enemies. By night they will cuddle, will kiss, will make each other scream.
This continues until Walburga makes Regulus choose: Either he can watch James die or give his mother all of his memories of him.
Of course Regulus would never let James die, so he forgets him instead.
The next time they meet is on the battlefield and all Regulus sees in James Potter is his enemy.

Regulus can't bear other people's touch. But in order to find his soulmate, he has to touch them.
