Junhee has stopped running. He took a step back and looked around, and what he found was none other than Donghun. Donghun teasing and bickering with him, causing something to flutter inside Junhee’s stomach. Donghun murmuring soothingly to him, gently guiding Junhee’s sleepy head until it’s resting against Donghun’s shoulder. Donghun lunging at the guy who hurt Junhee, completely livid, looking ready to risk it all — the championship, his spot on the team, his future career — for him, without even thinking twice. Donghun’s calloused but soft hands over Junhee’s on the hand grips of his crutches, and on his bruised ankle, massaging it oh, so carefully. Donghun looking at him — just looking at him with those soul-baring eyes of his, and doing nothing else.
The good news is that Junhee is decidedly not into Donghun’s not-girlfriend.
The not-so-good news is: he’s madly, foolishly, irreparably into Donghun himself.
Or, the soccer au where Junhee just can’t stop thinking about his teammate Donghun and the girl he’s supposedly dating, but not for the reason everyone seems to be thinking.
