Kaveh exhaled. Alhaitham kept staring at him. Truth be told: he was dead serious about everything. But there was no point in denying that Kaveh’s explosive reaction was a somewhat enjoyable element of the conversation. An entirely unexpected one, yes, but enjoyable nonetheless.
On second thought, though, Alhaitham had clearly participated in some form of heavy self-deception by thinking that Kaveh would have accepted Alhaitham’s request without making a fuss. After all, if Alhaitham had learned anything in his life, it was the fact that Kaveh and he, on the surface level, couldn’t be further from one another in terms of character.
