Summary
Sir Riftan Calypse has gathered the highest-ranking knights, who surround him in an improvised meeting room in the open air.
“Let’s forget about them,” finally says. “The best thing would be to send a small group back to the village down the mountains and have them bring us all the supplies they can carry.”
That was also the solution a year ago, when the monsters were hibernating and the rations promised by Princess Agnes were not arriving.
“I doubt they have anything to share this time,” interrupts Sir Elliot Caron, who had led the tiny team. “The village was small and they were already affected by the dragon’s magic.”
“Then another village. The Royal Knights are also not overflowing with supplies, so we can send a group to supply both armies.”
“But how are we going to pay for it?”
Silence engulfs them like the icy wind that snakes through their armor to freeze their bones.
“The princess can pay for it,” decides Riftan. “I will return it to her when the subjugation is over.”
“You shouldn’t have to pay for it,” murmurs Sir Nirtha.
“For once, I agree with him,” says Sir Rikaido. “Croyso should at least take care of the supplies.”Series

What if the cruel treatment that the Croyso girls were subjected to only brought them closer? How would Maxi´s life unfold then?
It´s a feel-good fanfic for those, who love the novel, but also want to read an alternative story where Maxi has a good relationship with her sister and generally suffers less throughout the story. Mostly, it´s my way to find closure after finishing the novel, because "Under the Oak Tree" haunts me day and night for the past 2 years)
