If there is one thing to be said about Aziraphale Z. Fell is that he leads an ordinary, quiet life.
He lives in Soho, London, above an old bookshop that he’s been fortunate enough to inherit in his late twenties. He likes sushi and good wine. He has a few friends - like Nina, who works at the coffee shop across the street; or Maggie, who runs the record store that he takes an absolute pleasure in frequently purchasing from.(He’s lonely. Terribly so. He’s been lonely for about ten years now, since - he does not want to think about that.)
Today is his 35th birthday.
At age 15, Aziraphale made a Promise. At age 25, he had an Earth-shattering fight with his childhood - and closest - friend. At age 35, that same friend shows up at his doorstep and suddenly, Aziraphale’s entire world is thrown upside down.
A story of something unexpected, something old, something yellow, something stolen, something new and something promised.

Aziraphale is surprised and confused when his pet accessories shop almost sell out of dog collars on the day of London Pride.

Rather to Aziraphale's surprise, he had been rushed off his feet all morning. He had sold out of rainbow dog and cat collars within an hour of opening, purple had gone shortly after, and black leather wasn't far behind. It seems the gays really rather love their dogs more than Aziraphale could have anticipated. He must remember to stock up for next year.
He'd had just enough quiet to settle himself a cup of tea, when the bell above the door jingled cheerfully. A young man with carefully coiffed dark red hair, dressed in tight black clothing and dark sunglasses, stood on the welcome mat.

AZIRAPHALE: Mm. How … miraculous.
CROWLEY: … Aziraphale. You did not.***
Crowley and Aziraphale are very possibly the people least qualified, on the entire planet, to start up an advice podcast.
But what else is there to do when the world isn’t ending anytime soon, you’re technically on indefinite sabbatical from your lifelong careers, and you need a plausible excuse to spend more time with your best friend who you’re definitely not, absolutely not, maybe just a little, actually maybe overwhelmingly in love with?

Summary
After two years, Aziraphale has, in fact, made concrete and effective (if still somewhat ineffable) changes to Heaven's operations. He's successfully educating his angelic coworkers about the joys and wonders that Earth and humanity have to offer! It's more than he could ever have imagined, and he thanks Her daily for the opportunity and blessings he has been granted. Everything is wonderful!
Except he hasn't spoken to Crowley in two years, and while Aziraphale knows he's being a top-notch Archangel, the timing of the Second Coming continues to loom between himself and his plans. Because he isn't only here to fix Heaven. Aziraphale's here to save Earth. (It's complicated.)
The Metatron isn't talking, the Archangels are uneasy, and the plans for the Second Coming continue to advance at a relentless pace. Oh, and Muriel's got a bicycle, and even she hasn't seen Crowley in over a month. Aziraphale's own doubts won't vanish, and it seems like there are very important things about Heaven that he's never been told before.
