Summary
Wednesday heard a lot of talk about soulmates from a young age, first from her parents and then later from kids at school.
She had first realized something was wrong when she was about 6. She started feeling pangs of emotion in her chest that she knew weren't coming from herself. After what had happened with Nero and her newfound awareness of the uselessness of grief, she had absolutely no patience for this.
As time went on and she grew older, she did her best to simply ignore and repress any feelings that might ever make their way to her from her soulmate. It seemed to do the trick of preventing their bond from growing stronger. The other kids at school--mostly the girls--would make fools of themselves by concentrating on their bond in hopes that it would grow stronger until the day came that they could enter the database, which, of course, Wednesday would never do.
The older she got, the more her parents would harass her over two things: the database, and Nevermore. Incidentally, they were two things she had sworn off entirely.
Little did she know that once her parents got their way in regards to Nevermore, they would in regards to her soulmate as well.

However, as is often the case, he and his friends don’t always share the same classes, leaving him in a tough spot when it comes to keeping up with his lessons. This time, he finds himself in a class with no one he knows to assist him, and to make matters worse, the teacher refuses to accommodate his hearing needs.
As if things weren't already difficult enough, Katsuki—infamous for picking fights with anyone—ends up stealing Izuku’s seat. With his anxiety escalating, Izuku struggles to focus, and in his flustered state, he accidentally grabs Katsuki's notes after class instead of his own. Realizing his mistake, Izuku is now in a full panic. He's terrified—because when it comes to Katsuki, nothing good ever comes from making a mistake like this.
