Summary
“Said if I tell, he’ll break my arm.”
Chuck had to blink back against seeing red.
“Did he.”
He was beyond livid. Sure, Bart had threatened him more times than he could count, but something about anyone threatening their Golden Boy had him seething.
Chuck resolved right then and there to take care of his boy, whatever it took.--
Nate comes to him when Howard gets violent. Chuck will fix things.

Summary
Hesitant, Ted reaches out, letting his hand find Trent’s shoulder. He’s curled up on himself, and he usually sleeps pretty balled-up, but this is a tight ball, hands pressed into his chest and legs drawn up and it looks almost painful, how much he’s compressed himself.
Ted runs his thumb over Trent’s cheek, soft and slow, and says, louder and more clearly, “Trent, honey?”
Nothing. Well— not nothing, because Trent’s still shaking, still sweating, still hyperventilating, still gasping out variants on, “No, please, don’t, please.” He doesn’t wake up, though.
“Trent,” Ted repeats, raising his volume a little further. He rattles Trent’s shoulder, just a bit, jostling him slightly. “Trent, sweetheart, it’s me. It’s us. You’re not alone, we’re here. C’mon, wake up, it’s okay. We gotcha, we—”
Trent jerks with a rough inhale, breaking off mid-plea, and Beard witnesses from behind the exact moment where Trent jolts into consciousness, his eyes flying open and releasing streaks of tears down his cheeks.
or: trent has a nightmare, and beard and ted comfort him.

Summary
Ted turns, smiling, hand lifting in a wave, ready to greet Trent properly this time, rather than in his ridiculous character.
And Trent is still sitting in the exact same spot, unmoving, staring straight ahead.
Ted waves all the same, but Trent doesn’t wave back. It’s like he’s not even paying attention, like he’s somewhere else entirely. Maybe he’s lost in his own thoughts— but, whenever he’s thinking too hard, he’s usually chewing on his pen, or fiddling with his glasses, and running his hands through his hair, or something. He’s a fidgety thinker.
Right now, though, he’s just sitting there, abruptly motionless, strangely absent. His notebook and pen are still in his hands, in the same position he’d fallen into when he first arrived; he hasn’t written anything else down.
Ted evaluates him for a confused moment before calling, “Good morning, beautiful!”
Trent still doesn’t move.
or: trent has an unexpected trauma response while ted is joking around. confusion, communication, and comfort are not far behind.

Summary
“if you’re raised with an angry man in your house,
there will always be an angry man in your house.
you will find him even when he is not there.”
- Catherine Lacey, CutJamie loves Roy. But there is a man in the hallway waiting to take him away.
What I believe is a realistic look at Jamie's relationship with his sexual trauma and how it manifests in his relationship with Roy.
