Blood brought a rosy glow to Will’s cheeks. “Portraits—sorry, I meant portraits. I paint other people,” he said, nearly starting to ramble. Watching the man get flustered was, wickedly enough, amusing to Mike.
He laughed. “That’s disappointing,” he said, folding his arms, “I would’ve loved to buy a self-portrait. A portrait of you.”

“What do you mean?” he can’t help but ask, body thrumming with both nerves and tentative excitement. Hope is a dangerous drug, rushing through his veins and tunneling his vision until all that matters is the man before him.
Chuckling quietly, Steve shakes his head again disbelieving, a shy grin spreading across his face as he looks at Eddie. “Come on, man. You know what I mean.”
