Attempting to lighten the mood, Aventurine bumps their shoulders together as they walk and Ratio seems almost affronted at the contact. “I’m sure you’ll change your mind after a nice swim and a few cocktails at the bar.”
“Coming from you, I should consider that a threat,” Ratio mutters and Aventurine thinks he detects a hint of amusement in his tone.
Oh, Aventurine would most certainly get the doctor to loosen up more.
Following their tribulations in Penacony, Aventurine and Ratio receive an unexpected gift from Jade—a much-needed vacation at at the most exclusive resort in the entire cosmos.
It is only them, the sun, the beach, and a week with plenty of opportunities to rest and recuperate, but Aventurine doubts he will be able to sit still for a single moment. With them struggling to navigate the strange new development in their relationship, a disappearance at the hotel, and the threads of their self-control slowly slipping away, it all threatens to become too much.

“You make it sound so simple,” Blade muttered bitterly, before his expression and voice seemed to soften imperceptibly. “I… didn’t expect this.”
Or; Dan Heng finally stops running. Can the shadows of two people who loved each other in a previous life salvage something from the ashes of their tragic shared past?
