Zhongli’s eyes sweep over the text laid out on the page. “It appears that you’re being summoned to court.”
“Huh?” Kaveh reaches for the scroll, frown deepening. “But we’ve been perfectly law-abiding during our time here! What exactly have I been convicted of?”
Alhaitham’s gaze briefly falls to the dip in Kaveh’s neckline, where a sliver of his roommate’s chest lies exposed.
“Public indecency,” he suggests.
Neuvillette has long relied on observing other people in order to understand himself. The arrival of certain visitors from other nations presents him with rather fascinating points of reference.
And Wriothesley... Well, he says he’s just here for the tea.

Summary
The messenger from the Akademiya brings with him tragic news. “Mister Kaveh... We regret to inform you that your husband, the Acting Grand Sage of Sumeru, has passed away in an unfortunate accident.”
There are so many things wrong with that statement. Kaveh smiles politely. “I beg your pardon?”
Taking the advice of an old friend from Liyue, Alhaitham decides to fake his death for an early retirement from the job of Acting Grand Sage.

Summary
Scaramouche’s patience is quickly wearing thin. There aren’t other customers around in the shop at the moment, but god if the two of them don’t make enough noise on their own.
He clears his throat loudly to get their attention. “Excuse me, sirs.” That last word ends up as a snarl despite himself, even with how hard he’s been trying not to straight up snap at them. “Have you decided on your orders?”
Scaramouche schools his expression into a sweet (forced) smile, and that’s apparently enough to get them both to stop momentarily. Kaveh shivers at the sight.
In which Alhaitham and Kaveh are terrible customers, Scaramouche is the bad-tempered barista tired of them bickering in his shop, and Nahida is the strange little kid who walks in asking for the strongest shot of coffee he’s got.

“I’ve just received word from the Acting Grandmaster of Mondstadt,” Alhaitham informs Nahida. “She said to expect a visitor going by the name of ‘Klee’.” He exhales. “I’m uncertain why she deemed it necessary to send forward a letter on such a thing, but she seemed to find it important that we were well-prepared."
“Klee...? Ah, I’ve heard... things about her.” Nahida worries her lip between her teeth. “She’s well known for arson, amongst other feats of destruction.”
"Well then.” Beside her, the Balladeer smirks. “How convenient that our Acting Grand Sage has an architect boyfriend of his own to help with any restoration efforts required, hm?"
“A what,” says Alhaitham.
A pair of tourists from Mondstadt pay a visit to Sumeru. Bennett brings his bad luck, and Klee brings plenty of excitement, enthusiasm and explosives.

Summary
Childe’s eyes dart between the unfamiliar man seated to Zhongli’s left, and the little girl with the moon-white dress perched upon his lap.
“Long time no see, Zhongli-xiansheng.” Childe’s smile is stiff, and the corner of his eye twitches. “Hey, so... since when did you have a daughter?”
A trip taken by Sumeru’s Archon and Scribe to Liyue lays the foundation for several meetings of coincidence and considerable concern.
