Like pools of tar and melted onyx, they stared Jesper down and in that moment he felt something akin to fear, not quite, but akin to. Like looking into the edge of oblivion; dark; omniscient; and entailing a certain sense of doom. He was closer than he'd ever been, Jesper didn't know how to react.
