When Matchbox 20 sings "Push" it is kind of douchey and overbearing because Rob Thomas is a rich and famous dude who wants for nothing. When Ken sings "Push" it hits differently because it comes from his firsthand understanding of powerless impotence as an individual: existing entirely as a satellite of another person, being aware on some vague subconscious level that something profound is missing from his life, but unable to articulate it or do anything meaningful about it. The author gets this intuitively and sends Ken down a path that, while different from canon, has a lot of the same thematic parallels (interpreted brilliantly through different POVs) and ultimately is just as interested, if not more so, in his journey of self-discovery.

He twisted around in midair and used Andre Richardson to break his fall and then he STOOD UP AND CAME BACK TO KISS OUR BOY DAIGO (okay it took a decade but you probably have to convalesce for a long time after that kinda stunt). A beautifully written meditation on loss and how it develops over time, with a profound wistfulness to it right up to the moment when it slaps you across the face and yells "life is beautiful, actually". Definitely one of my favorite MineDai fics to date.
