Ben eyed her warily from his spot at the bar top, and she extended her hands.
“May I?”
When he held out his large hand, she grasped it between her own; they looked like children’s hands in comparison.
“Mmm,” she hummed, eyes slightly unfocused as she gazed into the middle distance. “I see.”
She gently lowered his hand to the bar top and patted it once, kindly, before disappearing into the back.
