Summary
As Seungmin walks, he realizes the silence of the woods with sudden clarity. No birds are chirping or squirrels running through the trees, no hum or buzz of insects, and he stumbles as he steps. That means nothing good. Seungmin thinks that whatever scared Baby is what’s scaring everything else, and if it's scaring everything else, it should scare Seungmin, too.
He picks up his pace but doesn’t look around even when he feels eyes on him. Seungmin hopes it's paranoia and that no predator is hunting him. He hears a twig snap, and Seungmin doesn’t think; he just runs.
He doesn’t get far as he’s tackled to the ground by a large furry beast. He’s face down in the dirt and leaves of the trail, trembling.

Minho watches the wax from the candle dripping down onto the cream coating of the cake when Seungmin takes a little too long making his wishes.
Seungmin opens his eyes a moment later, when the candles are over halfway through, and looks at Minho. "Do you have any wish? If you do, make it now before the candles run out."
Minho furrows his brows, "It's your birthday."
Seungmin smiles brightly. "I can share it with hyung."

“Hi Han Jisung.” Seungmin finally picks up, Minho attempting to mind his business while Seungmin tends to his bestfriend.
“Kim Seungmin, I swear to god! Where the fuck have you been? I haven’t heard from you all day. Are you safe? Cough twice if you’re in danger.”
“What do I do if I am, cough three times?” He laughs, eyes still locked on Minho while he fiddles with his silverware.
“Since you’re still the sardonic asshole I hate to love, you’re clearly fine.”
“Yes, I am. I’ll call you when I get home, I’m kind of busy right now.”
“Oh my god you’re on a date with the hot neighbor? Fucking finally.”
“It’s not… shut the fuck up, goodbye.” Opting to disconnect the call himself, Seungmin silences his phone indefinitely, hoping Jisung gets the hint when he’s no longer able to call until Seungmin is ready to hear from him again.
AKA… Seungmin falls for his neighbor at first sight, until Minho finds out what kind of person Seungmin actually is.
