Summary
Martin Blackwood is a knight who devoted himself to the Lonely for as long as he remembers. His new job however includes bodyguarding a witch named Jon, while he is looking for corrupted magic users across the lands following the orders of Lord Bouchard. There is no way a witch is going to change Martin's worldview, right?

Summary
“Fine,” Jon says, and he tries to ignore the sulky tone of his voice, “fine. What do you suggest?”
Martin pauses, like he’d not expected Jon to give in so easily. Jon’s never been particularly agreeable, but he still feels vaguely offended by the blatant surprise. “W-we,” Martin stammers, clears his throat, continues on much more confidently, “we go in together.”
Or: it takes close quarters and a full 24 hours to finally get them on the same page.

Summary
Martin is no stranger to being bound to servitude. He has spent a lifetime indebted to the Witch of the Blackwood, and has only just managed to escape from under her influence by stealing for her a priceless Fae artifact. However, to ensure she escapes with the artifact and her newly endowed immortality, she makes sure Martin is caught by the Fae in her place.
As punishment, Martin is given to a Fae named Jon.
