“Okay, well, I guess we…,” he says with a grimace. “I guess we kind of killed our captain.”
“Eddie!” Buck snaps.
“What?” Eddie snaps back, throwing his hands up in frustration. “I mean, I don’t think the guy would’ve had a heart attack today if it wasn’t for us.”

Summary
It's a few months after Maddie kills her husband and stages it to look like a suicide that she moves to LA to live with her brother. Buck was fired from the fire department and was seeking meaning. Maddie was facing freedom for the first time in her life and seeking justice for others like her.
The 9-1-1 call center is the perfect spot to get details on where some of the most evil people in LA live. Maddie gets their info. Buck takes care of them in disguise. It's foolproof, until one night, Buck ends up at the wrong house.
