Mike walks back in, a tied white plastic bag in his hand. “Up,”
“What are you doing?” Will asks, frowning at the other boy.
Mike smiles, genuine but Will’s known him long enough to spot the mischievous glint in his eyes even with slightly tear-blurred vision.
Looking closer at the bag, he spots a few pieces of rolled up paper and a black lighter visible through the thin plastic.
“Is that Jonathan’s weed?” Will nearly shouts, Mike’s grin only growing.

Summary
The way Mike cares for him even after having known him for such a short time period scares Will. Not that he’s afraid of Mike’s care–no, he would never be afraid of that–but he’s afraid of what could happen if he gets too close, too attached. However as Mike smiles at him, his messy hair falling into his face, he decides that maybe getting close to Mike would be the best mistake he’s ever made.
Will smiles back, and it feels genuine—like a smile he isn’t forcing as a response, but a smile that genuinely shows how he feels. He isn’t very okay right now, but he will be.

Mike fights off the urge to super-glue his and Will’s hands together so they’ll never have to let go, because Mike hates a lot of feelings, like ceramic, or wool sweaters, but one feeling he will never get sick of is Will’s soft yet calloused hands in his.

A whistle startles them from their dual trance, instantly breaking apart and jumping from one another.
“ABOUT TIME!” Lucas’ voice echoes from the stage.
Mike entirely forgot Lucas was still there, and judging by the look on Will’s face, so did he. Lucas hops down from the stage, jogging lightly over to where the two boys stood.
“Were you– were you there the entire time?” Mike decides to cut the awkward silence.
Lucas chuckles, slinging an arm around Mike’s shoulder. “Not the whole time, I went to go see if you had left with your sister and ended up walking in on the middle of your makeout session, then I went back to give you two some privacy and came back after a few.” he chirps out. “Congrats, seriously. I was getting a little sick of your constant goo-goo eyes at each other”.

Summary
Even though Mike's two brain cells are being worked overtime, and he barely understands what just happened, he finds himself pushing his lips back onto his best friends and chasing the pressure, finding an immediate reaction: Will’s lips pressing back onto his eagerly.
Mike has no idea what he imagined kissing Will would be like, but it wasn't this. There weren't any sparkles, no fireworks, it was just Will. Just Will, and that was all he needed.

The party is stuck in the Upside Down and between one run and the other, Dustin finds a way to entertain the group.

As it is his senior year, Will Byers decides to try out theater. The school is putting on Much Ado About Nothing. He's sure it'll be fun...
There are a few problems:
1. He's developed a crush on the lead actor: Mike Wheeler
2. His own sister is playing Mike's love interest
3. His least favorite person Troy Walsh is in the play. And now he's threatening to spill big secrets.
Will the play go over well? Will Mike and Will get together (of course)? Are Troy's threats as empty as they seem? Will just wanted a fun senior year.ALSO: Make sure to check notes on chapters for TWs. It does get a little bit sensitive further in.

“True, Will is like a lady magnet,” Dustin added, a sly grin appearing on his face. “Though it will be much harder to find Mike a date. He’s mean.”
“Oh come on! I’m not even that mean,” Mike huffed, shooting Dustin a piercing look. “Also, El you don’t have a date either. Why are you trying to play Matchmaker?”
El’s hands flew to her hips. “Me and Dustin are going as friends. He doesn’t have his girlfriend here, and I don’t have a boyfriend. So we’re going as besties.”
Will looked over to Mike to see if he would be upset about El and Dustin, but he seemed more confused than anything.
“Uh, okay? So if you can go with Dustin to prom as friends, why can’t I just go with Will?” Mike furrowed his eyebrows.

Despite knowing that Vecna could return at any moment, the group decides to try to move forward with their lives. Their junior prom was coming up and Will still didn't have a date, so El took it upon herself to find him one. But of course, things never go as planned, do they?
