It was the 5th of October when Sirius found a box. There was a roll of wrapping paper next to it and a caption written in bold letters. Open when you get it.
There were a bunch of letters inside, all in bright envelopes, captioned in familiar handwriting.
SIrius felt ready to cry. He didn’t though. He cried all his tears in the past week and didn’t think there were any left.

For a human past their mid twenties, to be precise. For a human who doesn’t happen to have sex with a Witcher on a regular basis, which Jaskier doesn’t, not that it is a well known fact around the keep.
_____Witcher's seed makes those they choose to take to their beds long-lived and healthy. The thing is, Jaskier doesn't like sex, and no sex means he does grow old.

Suddenly everything that happened flowed Alec’s mind. Regular patrol, irregular magic activity, Iris Rouse, a child in a summoning circle, demon about to attack, rushing to them, praying to the Angel to not be too late, being hit with the whole force of a demon power.
“Jace…”
That’s alright. That doesn’t matter. Alec was fine. He hoped the child was as well.
“I’m sorry for not saying it before, how much you mean to me. I wish you could hear me.”
“What do you mean?”
Finally Alec came to stand next to Jace, looking at his parabatai with concern. And then there was something even more concerning.
There was someone on the bed.
There was him on the bed.

Or: After meeting a greater demon Alec falls into a coma. And while everyone is trying to figure out how to wake him up, Alec is trying to figure out how to let them know he is awake, even if his body is not.

Bilbo has not caught something since he was a lad and accidentally caught the flower that Bertie Proudfoot was tossing to see if anyone was interested in her. It had taken a lot of practice and restraint but he was quite proud of the fact that he no longer flinched when someone threw something at him. For even that sort of reaction meant something to the hobbit tossing their heart. And while he’d always been careful to never throw anything that someone might be able to catch, he couldn’t have prepared himself for their quest.

Chapter One:
The smile that spills over Brimsley’s face is surprising indeed. He was quite prepared to be maudlin and grumpy this morning, and yet he finds he cannot be miserable when his heart is swelling with so much love.
He presses a kiss to the note and smiles to himself, kicking his legs out of bed and squaring his shoulders. A wonderful day; well, he can at least try.

Chapter Two:
Reynolds carefully opens his fist and looks again at the poem, pressing his lips together with the effort of keeping himself from snorting. This is the most ridiculous thing he has ever read.
He tucks the poem away into his pocket, breathing through his nose until his racing heart calms a little and the urge to laugh recedes.
"If you are trying to make me break," he says out of the side of his mouth, in the faintest whisper, "You will have to do better than that."
