"I can do these things, at your request: openly hit on other guests while you act like you don't notice, start instigative discussions about politics and/or religion, propose to you in front of everyone, pretend to be really drunk as the evening goes on (sorry, I don't drink, but I used to. a lot. too much in fact. I know the drill), start an actual, physical fight with a family member, either inside or on the front lawn for all the neighbors to see. I require no pay but the free meal I will receive as a guest."

Summary
Over the past few years since they’d gotten together, the number of times Derek hadn’t come home could be counted on one hand, and only one of those had been due to immediate danger. There had been one kidnapping. One overnight trip to visit another pack when Stiles hadn’t been able to go with him. One canceled flight that had stranded Derek in New York. And once because Derek’s car had broken down and he’d been too far out to run home, so he’d stayed in a hotel until the garage could fix his car the next day.
Never because Derek was a dumbass who forgot something really important to Stiles.

“I don’t… I…” Tyler waited him out, but he said nothing else.
“Dude… why does it look like you just took a dip in the lake?”
The stranger looked up at him with a dazed expression, then a crease appeared between his eyebrows. “It was- it was just raining and now it’s not.” He looked up at the sky and back down at his suit that was soaked. He touched his suit like he didn't believe that it was wet.
