Summary
“You should throw it over the edge.”
“The ring?”
“Yeah. I heard it’s cathartic or something.”
“You want me to throw an eight-million-won ring over the side of a mountain?”
“Yeah. What else are you going to do with it? Fuck that bitch. Respectfully, though, if, y’know—if you’re still on good terms.” Minho can’t help but laugh at Jisung’s candidness.
“You’re crazy.”
Or// Two weeks before he’s set to propose Minho’s girlfriend breaks up with him, and he asks his friend Jisung to go on the trip with him instead.

Summary
Soonie stays quiet during the ride, probably because of the rain, but once they’re at home, he doesn’t curl up in front of the fireplace after Minho turns it on. The cat paces around the house, sniffing, meowing sadly, like he’s looking for something. Something that’s missing.
“What’s wrong, Soonie?”
The cat chirps.
“What’re you looking for?”
The cat meows solemnly.
“Are you looking for Jisung?”
Another sad meow, then another.
“He’s not here, baby.”
Soonie looks at him with his tail swishing. He gives another dejected meow before slumping onto the floor, far away from the warmth of the fireplace. Minho purses his lips.
He’s never seen him get so attached to someone so quickly. Is it the chicken? Does he really like it that much? He can cook chicken too….
Or// Minho is pretty skeptical about a lot of things, but he’s sure about one thing: a cat’s intuition is always correct.

Summary
“I don’t know why you guys hate each other,” Seungmin drones, “and I don’t remember asking for the entire backstory.”
“He fucking stole my fruit snacks!” Jisung slams his beer on the table. “And he stole the girl I liked!”
“You’re fucking gay,” Seungmin deadpans.
“And then Minho came out as gay a week later!” Jisung slumps back in the booth, beer in hand, other one exaggerating in the air around him. “He’s been trying to fuck me over since the moment of my conception.”
“Or he’s just trying to fuck you,” Seungmin grumbles.
Or// Childhood enemies Han Jisung and Lee Minho have hated each other all their lives, until a party and a college chemistry class show Jisung that the hatred might be a ruse for something else.

Summary
“Hyung,” Minho whispers. “I don’t know what to do.”
“Is this about you and Hannie?” Chan’s voice is just as quiet for fear of prying ears.
Minho nods and purses his lips. Even though what they have is supposed to be no strings attached, Minho knows for certain that there’s something underneath the surface, that Jisung feels more for him than he lets on.
After a moment of contemplation and silence, Chan says, “It’s hurting you, isn’t it? Minho-ya.”
“Yeah.”
Or// The monumental feat of becoming friends with benefits with the person you’re in love with, and being able to walk away unscathed.

Summary
Minho lays down right next to Jisung, head rested on his outstretched arm. It’s uncomfortable, but he doesn’t say a damn thing.
He closes his eyes and tunes out everything except for the sounds of Jisung’s shallow breathing, every inhale and exhale louder than his own heart.
And it’s so quiet around them. Living out in the countryside, surrounded by woods and scattered blueberry fields—it’s easy to get lost in the environment. They could spend their whole lives here and Minho would never even dream of complaining of not ever seeing the world, because when he opens his eyes and turns his head, he’s looking right at it.
Like an entire map spread out before him. And a timeline. Past, present, future. Everything’s right there. How could he ever want for more?
Jisung turns and looks back at him. “What are you staring at?”
Or// The process of falling in love with your best friend.
