在十二歲那年，洛伊德曾經被魔物襲擊。
他已經記不清楚當時發生什麼事，他只知道在那天後，就算吃了多少老爸為他準備的飯菜他也很快再次飢餓。
某天他在起床的瞬間便失去了意識，直到他回過神來後，他便發現自己手上沾滿了血與羽毛，嘴裡黏黏的，而鳥兒殘缺的肢體依舊在他眼前微微抖動。
戴克向洛伊德解釋：他已經變成了吸血鬼，還以嚴厲的聲音要求洛伊德保證絕對不能告訴任何人這件事。
接下來戴克都在洛伊德看不見的地方找些動物的鮮血回來，可是很快他們都發現這樣不夠。
洛伊德的本能告訴他需要人血，然而，洛伊德的理性卻告訴他不想要喝人血。
過了幾天，戴克帶著少量鮮血回來，說已經找到了一種特殊的魔物，吸血鬼只需要少量那種魔物的血，便能取代人血。
這使洛伊德喜出望外，因為他不需要喝人血也能繼續生活，這樣他就不會是怪物，他可以繼續上學，與柯蕾特跟吉尼亞斯一起繼續成為朋友。
洛伊德信任他的父親，因此在十七歲被趕離故鄉的村子後，洛伊德選擇自行找尋那種特殊的魔物。直到最後，他並沒有找到。
甚至因為自己一時大意，被另一世界的神子發現了他的秘密。
明明覺得總算跟傑洛斯開始成為朋友…洛伊德知道除了自己以外不能怪責任何人。
然而，他沒有料到，兩人的關係會因為那次的意外而加深。＋
