He continued speaking, trying to keep her awake, but as the ride continued, she could feel herself slipping into unconsciousness. Unsure if she was about to die or pass out. His words became muffled, and before she knew it, everything was impossibly dark. Darker than it had been despite her eyes being closed. His muffled words were now replaced with silence. And she thought that if this is death, it is certainly just as peaceful as she pictured.

Summary
Returning from a heist, Kit McCarty (Arthur Morgan) comes across Louisa Kingsman, injured and on the verge of death beside the road. With no memory of what happened to her, she returns to camp with Mr. McCarty, who vows to return her to her home of Galico, Montana, over 80 miles away. Trying to remember what happened, Louisa must put her trust in Kit to return her to her family, but his troubled past makes it difficult, for how can she put her life in an outlaw's hands? Kit struggles with his desire to redeem himself in spite of his wrongdoings, having to choose between the gang he's always been loyal to and a woman he just might love.
This is loosely based off of RDR2; I began writing it before I decided to connect it to the fandom, so it'll have a lot of similarities to the game but names and places will be slightly different. This is my first work on AO3, so a ton of feedback is thoroughly encouraged! It should get pretty steamy in later chapters, but the beginning is mostly world-building and dialogue. I should also be posting at least once a week (most likely more), so I hope y'all like it!
