Summary
What if there were three boys for whom the prophecy could have applied? What if Hermione's background was not what it seemed? What if Regulus didn't actually die in 1979? What if the magic of love was more important than we were led to believe?
A retelling of the series we know so well. Starts to deviate from canon during Fourth Year.
****“Has Dumbledore told you why I defected?” Snape asked him suddenly.
“He didn’t need to,” Reg replied. “I was here that night as well, and I heard the prophecy in its entirety.” He noticed a morose grimace on Severus' face.
“He’s after Lily. What am I to do?” his friend asked with desperation in his voice.
“We protect them. Lily isn’t the only one who delivered a son in July. Felicia also gave birth to a son. Alice Longbottom as well.” He took Severus’ other shoulder with his free hand so that he was clutching him with both hands. “You listen to me, Severus Snape. We will protect the women we love, and we will watch over their children. We owe them that much.
Sev nodded, and Regulus could see the unshed tears in his eyes.
“We protect them,” he repeated.
“We protect them,” Severus agreed.Bookmarked by rockrose

Summary
Too much loss and too much suffering drove a desperate Hermione Granger to make a bid for a different outcome. Albus Dumbledore had once told her that it was dangerous to meddle with time, but Hermione was willing to sacrifice everything--up to and including herself--to change fate and create a better world for those she loved.
Perhaps she ought to have asked Dumbledore to clarify the dangers of meddling with time.

Summary
“You and I—we were never meant…we—”
“Shut up Granger,” he growled.
Hermione blinked rapidly as the tears that had gathered in her eyes began to splash down her cheeks without her permission.
“W—what?” she stammered.
He crossed the room in two strides, his hand coming up to grip the back of her neck and he wrenched her towards him until her chest pressed against his.
“I don’t give a damn about the rules of time. D’yer love me or not, witch?”
Hermione took a shuddering inhale, her eyes closing briefly before she opened them and determinedly met his piercing stare.
“Yes,” she said, fisting the front of his shirt tightly, her fingernails digging into the skin of his chest through the fabric.
Moody’s eyes searched her face.
“Good,” he muttered gruffly and then he covered her lips with his own.
Years after Voldemort is defeated, Hermione accidentally travels back in time to 1978 where she encounters a young, hauntingly familiar up and coming Auror, someone she knows does not survive in her future. Hermione grapples with her growing feelings for the wizard and begins to wonder if she could handle the consequences of meddling with time if it meant saving him.
