Summary
Persephone feels like she can’t breathe, but air fills her lungs when she hears a deep, nearly demonic voice behind her.
“If you don’t let go of my wife in the next ten seconds, I will snap your fucking neck,” Hades growls, arriving with perfect timing. Prometheus has just unleashed the wrath of the King of the Underworld.
Betty turns her head, tears at the rim of her eyelids, and sees his crimson eyes - there’s a void of obsidian where the whites of his eyes normally are, and there’s smoke pooling on the floor that is billowing from him somewhere.
It takes a moment but Prometheus stubbornly loosens his hold on Betty, and she proceeds to tear herself from the brute’s grip. Hades catches her wrist once she’s free, their two wine glasses in his other hand, and pulls her behind him. Betty’s immediate instinct is to soothe Hades, but she recognizes he’s well beyond that point. He keeps himself between the threat and his wife, and laces his fingers with hers securely, squeezing her hand to assure her that he can and will handle it.
“If you so much as look at my wife again and I’ll castrate you on the spot,” Hades spits.
OR: It's a winter ball, but someone has his eye on Hades' wife.

Summary
“Mom?” Betty calls into the house, peering around the corner.
No response.
As she makes her way into the kitchen and dining room area, Betty sees the door to the backyard has been haphazardly left wide open. The curtain attached to the inward side blows in the evening breeze.
Before doing much else, Betty secures that door, shutting it and locking it. When she’s finished she faces the kitchen.
It’s vacant… except for something unfamiliar left on the kitchen island.
Betty walks over, her head tilting in concern. There’s a piece of paper taped to a rock and… blood pooled under it. She rips the note off of the stone, still confused.
"Your mother says hi."

Summary
He was a thorn in Betty’s side and she wanted nothing to do with him.
They worked the school newspaper together - the Blue and Gold - and they had been at odds since the day they met. Where she was meticulous, he was lazy. Where she was tidy, he was messy. Where he put too many commas in an article, she was there to cross them out with her red pen that he hated so much. They despised each other.
And they were both competing to be Editor-in-Chief for their senior year now that Nancy Woods was graduating.
They hated each other’s guts, always issuing low blows at each other whenever Nancy wasn’t in the room (they’d hatched a ceasefire when she was in the room for her sake after she had threatened to kick them both off the paper).
Betty despised him and his perfectly unruly hair under that stupid beanie and his insanely blue eyes and his aggravating leather jacket--
OR
Betty and Jughead despise each other. Or, at least, that's what the rest of the student body thinks.

Summary
Because fuck canon, that's why.
I see this as an example of something that COULD HAVE HAPPENED during 5x18 but didn't because the Riverdale writers SUCK.
OR: Jughead actually supports Betty
The table asks how she is, then Jughead asks how Alice is.
It’s so like him, she thinks, for him to ask about her mom - to care about the other people in her life. After everything, he knows how her mom can be more than most sitting at the table. Nostalgia floods her system for a moment, and it almost brings her to tears thinking about the life she used to have.
The truth is that Alice is not good. Not at all. She tells Jughead that, and she adds that her mom is listening to a musical record on repeat - a musical that eerily depicts her familial situation down to a tee.
As she opens up, Betty begins to feel like the alcohol content in her glass isn’t strong enough.

Summary
As Captain Cooper stands on the side of the tarmac, she smiles. Wisps of her blonde hair whip around her face in the wind. She’s watching a C-5M Super Galaxy - the US Army’s cargo plane model - in position for takeoff. Clad in her OCPs and flight helmet in-hand, she hears the engines revv. Moments later, the plane is in the air, heading toward its destination.
She had her own mission to fly soon with her team, in an Apache helicopter rather than in a cargo plane but nonetheless.
“Whatcha thinkin’ about, Cap’?”
Betty turns around, setting her eyes on her childhood best friend and his fiery red hair. He has a constantly-present dopey smile on his face.
“The mission,” she replies. “Supposed to be a good day for flying, Sergeant Andrews.”
Staff Sergeant Andrews chuckles to himself, knocking the heel of his combat boot on the pavement. “Well… you always say the view’s better from up there, ma’am.”
OR
The one where Betty begins to heal.

Summary
Pema supposes she’s always been motherly, even before the birth of Jinora. She remembers being a teenager and her friends calling her mom because she took care of them in a way only a mother could. She didn’t mind that, she always wanted to be a mother, after all. After the Avatar came to live at Air Temple Island a few years ago, she quickly found herself being a mother figure to a few wayward teenagers. At times, she thought being a type of mother to the Avatar and her friends was harder than with her own children.
Pema liked a challenge, and she truly did love them.
Or, 5 times Pema loved Korra and Asami as her own children, and one time they loved her as their own mother.
