Summary
The after-work-pint through time, with a few coffees thrown in as well. Basically just Lewis and Hathaway sitting, drinking and talking (or not). Usually episode-related, but I can’t promise a chapter for every episode. I am deliberately posting this as a work in progress, because I don’t know where it will end and how long it will take me, and I don’t want to wait a year before I publish any of it. Enjoy them as and when they come.

Summary
Chief Superintendent Innocent is convinced that the future of modern policing lies with an increased intake of graduates, who will edge out the dinosaurs and bring modern theories and practices into the force. So she is happy to hear that one of those fast-tracked graduates is joining her station. What she hopes for is an ambitious young person who will rise rapidly through the ranks, whose education enables them to play the political game, whose people skills let them fit in with the team while exercising subtle leadership to drag them into the 21st century, and who will represent the modern police force at its best both inside the station and to the outside world. What she gets is James Hathaway.

What if Innocent had made good on her threat to put Hathaway back in uniform and make him walk up and down the High Street, telling tourists the time? Here are a few things that might have happened.

Summary
"You realise what's going on?" James had asked, and Lewis had said "yes", but really he didn't know the half of it.
My take on the obligatory Dead-of-Winter fic. This is not post-episode, but a "missing scene" from the middle somewhere. Just James and his thoughts.
