“I meant,” Enjou says, raising his voice over Ajaw’s screeching, “why do you want me to save him? I was under the impression that you wanted him dead. No?”
“Wha—you—” Ajaw sputters, his pixel form wavering in and out of existence, sort of like a faulty lightbulb. “The Almighty Dragonlord K’uhul Ajaw will not acquire a tainted body, especially not when the culprit is Abyssal scum—like…! Like you!” He flails about in frustration, waving his hands and tail around, and then adds, “Now fix him!”
Enjou raises an eyebrow.
“Uh-huh.”
Lurking in the background, making things happen in the least conspicuous way possible, coming up with a fake name for each day of the week, and then some—in the midst of all his hobbies, Enjou certainly isn't in the habit of cozying up to people for anything other than his own gain. Natlan was supposed to be more of the same. Come in, gather information, leave.
All that gets thrown out the window the day the Abyss tears the Scions of the Canopy to shreds.
