“Come home with me tonight,” James says, hopeful.
Regulus sighs, a tired look on his face. Like he’s sick of explaining. “We’re not together, James.”
It reminds James of the first time Regulus said it. James’ bedroom, a few months ago. James had asked him out, he wanted to take Regulus out properly. Regulus had said no.
“Why not?” James had asked, hurt.
“We aren’t together,” Regulus had said simply, and that was that.
James Potter is in love. Stupidly, he agrees to sleep with Regulus, no strings attached. Nothing good can come out of something so casual.

James prefers to be the one laid bare, stripped of both his clothes and defenses, neck bared for his Omega.
There’s nothing traditional about it in the slightest, but James has never felt like he fits into his Alpha role well anyways. And why would he need to when Regulus looks at him like that?

Summary
Regulus knew he was making a mistake when he agreed to plan his brother’s wedding.
Wedding planning is a lot of work no matter who the grooms are. When you add Sirius into the equation, every single detail needs to be perfect.
Then, Sirius told him James Potter was going to plan the wedding with him. Yes, the same James Potter that Regulus had a ridiculous childhood crush on for the better part of his formative years.
Regulus almost backed out right that moment.
It’s safe to say that he’s glad he didn’t.

Summary
Saying yes to marrying James Potter has been the easiest decision of Regulus’ life.
There is no doubt for the love that radiates between the two of them; it is effervescent, knows no bounds, unyielding to whatever may come their way.
Their love is found in the comfortable silence they share at night, laying in bed cuddled together next to the fire. It is found in the kisses on cheeks, the coffee orders memorized, the soft words of praise whispered in the middle of the night.
Anyone who sees the way James looks at Regulus can tell their love is eternal, and it’s obvious to everyone that James brings out Regulus’ brightest smiles.
Their love will persevere forevermore, a sentiment only solidified on the night they choose to claim each other.

“Wh– well– why–” James stammered, attempting to get his bearings, because if he didn’t, and he let Regulus tell him ‘kiss me’ one more time, his heart would probably give out. “Why don’t you get Sirius to help?”
Regulus narrowed his eyes. “Because Sirius would just knock his teeth out,” he said as though it were obvious.
“Yes,” James hissed, “and he’ll knock my teeth out if I kiss his little brother.”
“You can take a hit, Potter, I’ve seen you on the quidditch pitch,” Regulus waved him off, and James groaned, leaning away from him.
“Oh, yeah, great, so I’m the sacrifice,” he sighed.
“Precisely,” Regulus stepped right into his space, and James felt his chest go a little hot.

Summary
James Potter dies. He dies before he even hits the ground, after taking the Unforgivable he was expecting to the chest; he dies and his murderer shakes off the mild effort of facing a wizard who would have been a formidable opponent if he hadn’t been wandless, steps over the corpse like it’s a questionable puddle, and absentmindedly taps his wand against his thigh as he climbs the stairs and listens to terrified whispers of a mother.
And somewhere, buried deep behind protective curses and endless books and thirty-five years of loyalty, three separated objects seem to blink.James dies. Or he doesn't. Either way, being legally dead but not actually dead is kind of a hassle, getting his best friend out of jail is as well, and let's not even talk about the difficulty of preventing multiple murders by controlling his temper.
