Upon first arriving at the House of Hades and given the task of instructing Hades' son in military discipline, Achilles' first impression of the young prince is less than favourable. However, when he discovers that Zagreus is apparently stuck in his current form as a child and has not grown in many mortal generations, and the boy demonstrates a kindness rarely found in the gods, they develop a close bond that helps them both to survive their unkind circumstances.
