Summary

As Xie Lian continues to talk, he fails to realize how tense Hua Cheng has become, the muscles in his jaw getting more and more taut with each word coming out of his mouth.

When Xie Lian was offered the armory, it had seemed like a joke. Not only a harmless joke by Hua Cheng, a joke on a wider scale - the idea that Xie Lian, whose ramshackle hovels were forever being improbably struck by lightning or collapsing in breezes, could take the time to tend to weaponry in such a beautiful place! And as though to confirm, Xie Lian had promptly and obligingly burned it. It made him shudder to recall.
