She skidded to her side, gripped her friend’s shoulders hard enough to bruise. The slick grass was cold under her knees, blood seeping spots of red into her beige pants. Around them, the Woods were eerily silent.
Catra still wasn’t moving.
If this was a Horde trap, it was horrifically convincing.

"She cut off at the feeling of strong arms wrapping around her, picking her up effortlessly into a secure bridal carry. Without thinking, Catra let her hand rest against Adora’s chest.
Adora gave her a smug grin. “You were saying?”
Catra rolled her eyes, hoping they couldn’t see her blushing in the dim light of the street. “Shut up and take me home.”
Or: about six months after an attempt on Adora"s life, Hordak is on trial for attempted murder and an anti-alien attack on Bright Moon. Catra wants to make amends and heal her public image by partnering with her uncle, Horde Prime, to create a clean air initiative. Adora tries to help her bear the weight. In a world without answers, they find solace in each other.

Summary
Catra remembers her own sleepless nights and violent rages—the scratches she gouged in Adora’s bedding, the shriek of claws against metal as she defaced the silly sketch they had drawn together. She remembers lying awake for hours each night, unacknowledged tears leaking from her eyes as Adora’s scent slowly faded from her life. She takes a deep breath, filling herself up to banish the memories. Adora loves her. Adora stayed.

In the aftermath of Horde Prime"s demise, Catra struggles to integrate into Etherian society as she and Adora explore their newfound relationship. Featuring major cuddles, minor angst, therapy, a surprise character development for Catra, and sweetly awkward fumblings toward physical intimacy. This fic also includes a few minor references to @Annacharlier"s "Don"t Go," which is canon as far as we all know, and to Noelle and Molly"s amazing #BLM livestream. <3
