“Look,” Max starts, heading over to the spinning chair and sitting so that her chest is against the back, and her legs dangle down. “I can’t help you unless you tell me what happened, okay?”
She starts with this, because Mike Wheeler is not known for being one to talk about his personal flaws. If she knows anything about Vecna, it’s that everything he says to you is dredged up from the deepest, most private part of your soul. There is no way, she thinks, that Mike will ever tell her what really happened unless he truly believes it’s the only way he can survive.
Maybe not even then, she thinks. Didn’t El tell her that he jumped off of a cliff once?
“I don’t have to tell you shit,” he mutters, turning his head away from her.
OR
Max wakes up, Mike gets Vecna’d, they both have to do a lot of getting along with each other. (Basically just my love letter to a Mike & Max friendship because I always thought they’d probably be best friends if they didn’t hate each other’s guts)

Hopper spent more time than he would like thinking about Mike Wheeler. The kid intrigued him in the worst way. He constantly would lash out at people, much like Hopper himself. he was like a puzzle where none of the pieces seemed to fit together.
