Summary
Childe only wanted, and expected two things out of his mission in Liyue, the Gnosis of the Geo Archon, and maybe an epic battle on the side. He couldn't have foreseen what a highly complicated and delicate situation his failed(?) attempt at retrieving Rex Lapis's gnosis would pull him into; and how close he would end up getting to the very Geo Archon he was trying to defeat.
The only thing Zhongli wanted after many millennia of governance and conflict was to retire quietly and discretely. It was anything but quiet and discrete, rather a nationwide catastrophe that Zhongli felt guilty of (indirectly) unleashing over his people for the selfish desire to retire. Due to the failed test, and a Liyue Harbor left in ruins, the last thing he would do is give up his Gnosis to the Tsaritsa. However, he knew this refusal would cause a very delicate balance to crumble.
(Or, the “test” Childe was supposed to conduct to see if Liyue would survive without Rex Lapis severely backfires, resulting in a tired Zhongli and a betrayed, confused Childe trying to fix the mess it has caused and fighting to keep the Geo Gnosis— which is an object of interest to many— in Liyue.

Summary
"Iverson nodded absentmindedly- he’d never thought about that. Still, trying to picture Keith Kogane as a universally famous war hero was unbelievable. Every time he looked at the boy all he could see was the young, undisciplined teenager who punched him in the eye."
In which Iverson realizes he was wrong in his assumptions about Keith, and the two have a midnight chat.
(I finished watching season 7, and all I could think about was that Iverson and Keith needed to apologize to each other and have a talk. May be a little OOC since I just joined the fandom.)
