That specific afternoon, Theo was livelier than usual.
He barked a lot, ran around in a fit of uncontrollable happiness and Bradley was having trouble keeping him on a leash, so he let him go and followed him on his weird walk.
Theo trotted along contentedly on his agile legs for quite a while before tiring and going to rest not far from a wooden bench that looked out directly onto the park"s pond.
Bradley immediately noticed that a handsome blond man, about the same age as him, was sitting on that bench.
He was intent on reading a book with great concentration, his complexion was golden due to his tan, and he was wearing a sage green long-sleeved polo shirt. At his side, there was a small dog, with white and beige fur, who seemed very happy to bite a plastic toy next to his owner, while every now and then his fingers stroked its fur.
[Bradley and his dog Theo are gonna meet Jake and Brisket during a very chaotic first encounter in the park.]

“You don’t point at other people’s shirts, Loulou. Even though they are objectively waaaay out of fashion,” he laughed, squinting and watching for a few long seconds the man who wore that horror in a public place, heedless of the most basic concept of fashion.
And oh my God... unfortunately for Jake, he would have recognized those brown curls and those huge shoulders even in the dark, if forced.
“Rooster!” he found himself shouting in front of him, waving an arm in the air and hoping to get the attention of his... colleague? Acquaintance? Friend? He had no idea what category to put the living mystery that was Bradley Bradshaw in for him.
He wondered what the other man was doing in line at the aquarium too... It certainly wasn’t a popular place for social gatherings, after all.

“Just to warn you –” a smile has crept back into Mav’s voice “– the second you accept the wedding invite Penny and Sarah will start a shortlist of eligible partners. If I didn’t know better, I’d say the wedding was just an elaborate excuse concocted by those two to fix you up.”
Ice’s daughter is getting married and if Bradley doesn’t take a plus one to the wedding, he’ll either make some very bad decisions about hooking up with an ex, or be subjected to Sarah Kazansky and Penny Benjamin trying to fix him up with one of the other guests. Desperate times call for desperate measures: enter Jake Seresin, the sex worker that Bradley slept with two years ago and hasn’t forgotten about since.
Having Jake on his arm (and in his bed) is the perfect – if very expensive – solution. That is, if Bradley’s ex would stop trying to poke holes in their backstory, and if Bradley can remember that enjoying Jake’s company is one thing, developing feelings is another.
