Summary
The walk to the ceremony is a bit of a blur to Kaveh, in retrospect. He remembers the sun beaming down, the traveler discreetly crashing the party late by scaling up the cliffside. Beneath their feet, as they walk down the aisle, little dendro blooms burst and blossom, leaving a trail of flowers in their wake. Some deep part of him even recognizes that the stage and the mandap covering it look pristine after all their trouble that morning, the flowers fragrant and bright in their jewel tones.
What he remembers clearest: Dehya’s face as she sees her bride, her awe and joy contagious. And Al-Haitham seated behind her, unable to pull his heated gaze away from Kaveh when everyone else is looking at Dunya.
Kaveh and Al-Haitham enjoy Dehya and Dunyarzad's wedding—well, they try despite the many, many, problems that keep popping up. But hey, what is a wedding party for if not solving every issue under the sun before they ruin the brides' big day? And perhaps the journey toward the reception will give the two of them an idea along the way…
