Summary
In the early days of 1917, Alex Claremont-Diaz arrives at Craiglockhart War Hospital after serving in France. Under the care of Dr. Shaan Srivastava, he armors himself in denial of his condition — shell shock — and avoids treatment whenever possibly. He insists he’s fine. What soldier could leave the Western Front behind without having nightmares?
Henry Fox, a short-lived soldier and sometimes poet, wanders through Craiglockhart for nearly a year. Despite all efforts by him and Dr. Srivastava, his neurasthenic mutism diagnosis remains firmly intact — traumatic events in France have left him unable to speak, among other symptoms. Henry isolates himself, discouraged by limited communication and depressed by his progress, determined to wait out the war alone.
The pair strike up a friendship that turns deeper, coming to rely on one another through their therapies, upsets, and small victories. A story of connection, healing, family, and the definition of recovery.

Summary
Honestly, sometimes having a kid is so fucking annoying. Like when your eight year old comes home from her tia’s and talks about the economics of a lemonade stand, for fuck’s sake, and puts together such a convincing pitch that even thinking about saying no makes him feel like a complete dick.
So now he’s using a nail gun he borrowed from his neighbour to help her make a little stand out of lumber. And somehow, he hopes anyway, not making it look like something she’s gonna get tetanus from or get crushed by.
She looks cute as hell in her little overalls, though.
Or, Alex’s kid has a lemonade stand, and Henry is their best customer.
