“Soap?! Soap?!” Ghost shouts, turning and placing Soap on his back, his hands pressing down more on the bleeding wound. “Soap! No! Stay with me, Soap!” But Soap doesn’t open his eyes again. Ghost feels for a pulse and feels a slight beat under his fingers, but it’s weaker than he would like.

Did Hangman want to continue what they had together? If they even did continue, could it be like the early days? Of course, it couldn’t. They weren’t irresponsible adults anymore. They weren’t looking for someone to relieve stress with. Rooster was in love and he hoped Hangman was too.
You can’t go back to “meaningless” hookups after you realize you love watching them smile and you spend every minute you can to make them laugh because it fills your chest with warmth. You can’t go back after you realize that simple touches like holding hands, or kisses pressed to the crown of their head, is the highlight of your day sometimes.

Bang!
That singular shot. It was loud, made his ears ring as a piercing pain took over his left shoulder. His whole body jerked, but he didn’t register the pain. His eyes watched Eddie.
His body had jerked too, and blood splattered onto Buck‘s face, painting it red. Buck’s breath halted in his chest. Eddie looked up the same time Buck did, eyes making contact with the others.
Then Buck felt his legs give out and his knees hit the pavement. The dull ache was there, but he was more concerned with the way Eddie had fallen to his side, one arm tucked under the other.
Buck tried to speak, but his throat was closing up, he couldn’t feel his throat moving even to get a breath in.

Summary
It all happened so quickly. One minute, he was talking with Eddie, watching him stand, watching him breathe, then next there was a loud bang, liquid on his face, and Eddie was standing there, blinking up at Buck before dropping to the street below him. It’s like everything has slowed down, some sort of thick cloud hovering over them.
Another firefighter was yelling something, something about Eddie before he was being pushed away - away from Eddie. People all around him were yelling, screaming even, but Buck couldn’t hear them.
No! His mind was screaming at him, yelling at him to run to Eddie; to stop the bleeding, to save him. But his body wasn’t moving.

Buck had never wanted to be an assassin. Trust me, it wasn’t his preferred job, but he got stuck in it young. His parents had sold him to a company when he was fifteen and they trained him for three years.
Buck knows over fifty ways to kill a person and he finds it concerning, but then he just...doesn’t.
So, at the ripe age of twenty three, nearly five years after his first kill, Buck was tasked yet again with another kill, just this time...this time was different.
“He’s been on the run, but we finally caught him. Take him and his son out. If you do this, we might consider your release.”
OR:
Buck’s an assassin and he’s been tasked with taking out yet another person, but this times different. This time, Buck falls in love instead.
