Buck never thought that when he finally told Eddie he loved him, it would be at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean.
To be fair, he never really thought he would ever tell Eddie he was in love with him.
Most of all, he didn’t think he would be saying goodbye only moments after.
It wasn’t even that Buck trusted Jonah, all right?
But he thought he could trust Jonah enough to not drop him and Eddie into the middle of the Atlantic in a containment module.

Summary
Thankfully, the fates must have been on his side for once, because Eddie had been more than receptive. That first kiss had felt like coming home, like finding his last. Buck has felt more love in the half a year he’s had with Eddie than he ever felt with any of his previous partners.
He hopes that Eddie feels the same way.
He’s committed to making sure that he does, anyway.
That’s how Buck finds himself here now—it’s approximately thirty minutes before midnight, the night before Eddie’s birthday. They’d had a very relaxed day but Buck has plans for the night ahead. He’s determined to make Eddie’s birthday the best day possible, to make it something special for him.

Summary
One, in particular, has always stuck out in Eddie’s mind.
No matter how hard he’s tried, the idea of somnophilia won’t leave him. There’s something about giving themselves over to the other so wholeheartedly—wanting each other so fiercely that not even sleep could be enough to stop it, that the other would give them such complete freedom over their body, would trust them enough to do so—that gets Eddie’s mind whirling with all sorts of delightful temptations.

“Reminiscing?” He inquires, crossing the few feet to the bed to place a kiss on his husband’s - Eddie’s - lips. Spread out across the foot of the bed are photos and mementos from their college days, their eight-years younger selves staring back up at them. His eye catches on one in particular, a candid snapshot, taken by a friend of the two of them getting cozy after the victorious homecoming game in Buck’s junior year. He picks it up, running his fingers lightly over the shiny paper.
