If you read one of my poems
and it has a sad ending
threatening to drown in grief
on an already bad dayplease remember
it passed for me
I am here
I had a napI took a deep breath
and ate some ice cream
I gave myself a little bit of timejust to be, and let my thoughts
flow through my head
without guilt, or anguish
or judgementSo if you read my poems,
and a dark one
resinates with you a little too much

Raph’s hands are bloody, and Mikey is crying, and Leo is writhing in their big brother’s hold. The once-bright yellow hoodie Mikey had been wearing that morning is stained an ugly rust color and pressed hard against Leo’s right arm.
“No,” Donnie says woodenly.
“We found a few families trapped in an apartment building,” Mikey manages to choke out. “One of them had a little girl and she—she started crying. It was so loud. The Odds swarmed the level we were on in seconds.”
No, is all he can think. No no no.

Something sick and heavy curled up in his stomach. "I didn't mean it," he whispered. "Leo knew that, right?"Two years ago, Donnie made a joke during a fight over a snowman. In the wake of the Krang invasion, he needs to know if Leo realized it was a joke. Leo just wants to know that Donnie will be okay when he's not there.

“Hey!” Donnie stomped his foot on the ramp. “I don’t know what kind of prank this is, but it isn’t funny.”
“This isn’t a prank, Dee,” said Leo, his voice nonchalant. “We took a vote, and you’re out.”
“That isn’t how this works!” Donnie took a step toward them. He could feel his muscles tensing, like he was bracing for impact. “You can’t just throw me out with a vote.”
“Well then, how about this,” Raph said, and Donnie shrank back as he stepped up.
In all his life, Raph had never made him feel so small.
“You’re out, Donnie. Leader’s orders.”
His brothers think they don't need him anymore? Well, fine. He doesn't need them either.
The old Donatello is gone. He'll build a new one. One that will make them regret they ever threw him aside.
Building things is what he's good at, after all.
