Fill in the blank animeverse fic (just before Episode 9). Same universe as Costume. Chapter 1 in the collection "A Long Story, Although It's Kind of Short."
Wolfwood could've thought of a million things he'd rather do at sunrise than meet his old Master and receive a babysitting mission from God. Moreover, his orders made no sense. There was something Wolfwood wasn’t being told—probably a lot of things. But who knew what went through the mind of God, or Legato? At least it would be cleaner than an assassination.
