Summary
That glow is gone, now. Gone from Dick’s skin, gone from inside him. It used to shine out of him, out of all the cracks the world put in him. But now Bruce looks down at him, and he is as dark and cold as a snuffed star. That’s what gets to him the most—not how cold the morgue is under its colorless fluorescent lighting, or the cloying smell of formaldehyde that clogs his throat. It’s how still Dick is, on the cold, sterile surface of the examiner’s table. It’s unnatural. The boy never learned how to sit still.
---
On a dewy Sunday morning in April, Dick Grayson, trust fund baby and local celebrity, is found dead at the tender age of 25. His abrupt passing sends his hometown, the sleepy beach town of Gotham, into a tizzy--and his former guardian, old money stalwart Bruce Wayne, reeling. But as Bruce struggles to come to terms with his ward's death, it rapidly becomes clearer and clearer to him that there's something off with this tragedy--no, this "town"--no, this entire reality...

Summary
When Jason was Robin, he only saw Dick Grayson as the perfect asshole who put all the other sidekicks to shame, the golden boy who could do no wrong. And then he came back, and he was so broken that Dick, the Bat’s chosen heir, seemed mockingly whole in comparison. But now he’s an adult, with his own team and operations and purpose, and Dick isn’t the untouchable idol, too high for him to reach and too good for him to tarnish. Dick is a teenager getting drunk alone in a bar—which makes Jason the stable one.
Which is an unsettling a realization as Jason’s ever had.
---
When the Ric Grayson situation reaches critical mass, Tim sends Jason back in time to piece Dick's memories back together.

Summary
“What about this? Me?” His voice drops, low, but even now there’s the bite underneath, the bitter tinge of resentment that comes from already anticipating a rejection. It tips Slade off to the fact that Dick is in far worse shape than he assumed—the man he knows, the one he’s spent the better part of the past decade with in an equally infuriating and invigorating dance, would never be so desperate. Or so clumsy. “I’m asking you to. Is that a good enough reason?”

Summary
If Jonathan Storm was the movie star Betty said he was, he looked the part: Hair like spun gold in perfect curls atop slender features, with eyes bluer than the Hudson in midsummer. “Normally I’d ask what a dame like you is doing in a place like this, but”—Peter cast a glance up his guest—“you’re not exactly a dame, are you?”
Storm flashed a weak smile. “I can be, if you want.”
Peter raised an eyebrow. Storm turned beet-red.
“I mean. I’m. I didn’t mean that.” Storm huffed and shoved out a hand. “Johnny Storm.”
---
It's 1933, Peter Parker has just shut down a Nazi eugenist and lost one of his oldest friends, and life in the big city is as joyless and hardscrabble as ever. Then Johnny Storm, movie star with a soul made of sunshine, walks through Peter's door, asking for his help. The rest, as they say, is history.

Set post-X2. After Jean's death, Rogue and Kitty think it would do a grieving Scott good to have to supervise a field trip to get him away from the mansion. When they run into mutant hunters looking for new prey, Scott's decision to send the children home and go it alone angers pretty much everyone. It annoys Logan most of all. [Warning for Scott getting beaten-up by mutant haters.]

Summary
Nonlinear, Jamie thinks. Trent explained that to him once, and it stuck with him, the idea that not everything just keeps on moving forward all the time. Sometimes people fall back into old patterns, sometimes things don't happen in the right order. Sometimes you think a story is going to tell you what happens next, and instead it turns around to look the other way. But the story isn't really moving backwards when it does that, Trent said. It's just using the backwards look to build a stronger foundation for moving ahead.
"That fight was fucked up, yeah?" Jamie leans closer to Roy, smells the beer in his bottle and on his breath, remembers what it felt like to gulp one down in that bar after months of going without. Remembers what Roy's knuckles felt like smashing into his nose after years of going without.

Summary
Jamie flopped into the wet grass beside Roy. “Oh, nice,” he said brightly. “Can see a lot of stars all the way out here. See?” His hand brushed Roy’s side as he raised a finger to point. “There’s Perseus.”
