Summary
"He tries to ignore the shortcomings in Doc's parenting, at first. In the beginning, he'd taken it as the understandable failings of a first-time father — an emotionally callous comment here, a forgotten promise there. But soon enough, they begin to pile up, piecing together like a quilt of subtle emotional neglect.
And it's not his job. At all. It's not even remotely his job. Still, when Dean comes out of his room crying about a nightmare and Doc tells him he's busy without even looking up, it itches at him. Despite the distance he'd tried to maintain, Brock genuinely feels bad."
A piece reflecting on Brock and his relationship with the boys over the years.

Summary
It was definitely a surprise to find out what she had been raised to be, as well as what was supposed to happen to her when the original plan fell through. But Noodle's not letting it get her down. In fact, she's turning it into a positive, and making something great with it. With how capable she now knows she is, it'll be easy.
It would be easier if her bandmates weren't bringing up what happened all the time.

Summary
Murdoc really was starting to feel a little sentimental about the whole thing.
It was a bit sick, in his opinion. Sitting in some field, reminiscing by the sea like they were in a romance novel.

Summary
"What'll it be like?" He asks quietly.
"Like... Like a sort of just- explosion, over the horizon." He splays his hands, mimicking the motion. "Yeah. Painting the sea in colors we don't even know what they look like yet, cos they're all new. An incomprehensible cacophony of sound and blinding light. And then..." he suddenly closes his fingers again. "Nothing."
His tone doesn't match the visual theatrics. Even so... That probably means that he knows what he's talking about. And why wouldn't he? When the world threatens to end, somewhere, there is always Murdoc Niccals. If he isn't directly causing it, he'll be clued in at least.
